It is not too late. You are not too broken. Those scars you’re wearing?
Warrior paint, my friend.
No matter what stories you’re telling yourself, no matter how many scars you’re wearing, know this and know it well:
you’re good enough, worthy enough, brave enough.
As Viktor Frankl says in “Man’s Search for Meaning “
“Man does not simply exist but always decides what his existence will be, what he will become the next moment. By the same token, every human being has the freedom to change at any instant.”
Broken promises, bruised egos, failures and fallings. We all have scars from life’s battlefield.
We tend to tell ourselves that our scars are something to be ashamed of, but what they really show us is that we’ve survived. We’ve made it. We’ve conquered the pain, grown stronger, and moved forward.
That we are, indeed, warriors.
But while our scars show us where we have been, they can never dictate where we are going.
I’m with Rilke on this one.
“you are not too old
and it is not too late
to dive into your increasing depths
where life calmly gives out
it’s own secret”
(from “Rilke’s Book of Hours: Love Poems to God” )
No matter how many years you’ve got under your belt, if you’re reading this, then the truth is that you’re still breathing and your heart’s still beating and the earth is still under your feet.
There’s still time to be all that you can be.
It’s only too late if you wait.
I’m hoping you don’t wait.
