So, if you haven’t gotten around to it yet? Figuring out what you’re going to do in 2022?

No worries.

No. Really.

It’s gonna be fine.

Even if you haven’t sketched out a plan, revised it and reworked it, re-worded it or mapped it out on poster board. Even if you haven’t taken scissors and glue and a night to yourself to collage for inspiration. Even if there isn’t one single step written down on your calendar, it’s okay.

Really.

Those goals? Dreams? All that stuff you’re hoping you’ll finally get around to doing this year, or that stuff you just now remembered that you wanted to get around to doing someday? It doesn’t have to be all planned out by January first. Or fifteenth. Or thirtieth.

Sometimes the days are so crazy-busy or maybe just so crazy, that planning out three-hundred-and-sixty-five days’ worth of to-do’s isn’t just intimidating, it’s impossible.

Besides, you don’t have to plan out every minute of every day, or even every day of every month. And life doesn’t stop happening just because you’re in the mood to do a mood board. Honestly? Planning out the entire journey doesn’t actually work, because you have no idea what roadblocks are waiting for you down the road, or whether you’ll have time next month on the twelfth.

But you do have today.

You do have today.

And there are things you can do today.

Maybe one thing. Maybe two. Maybe three, if the stars are all aligned and the weather cooperates.

They might be big things, or just little steps.

The whole journey you’re hoping to take this year, dreaming you’ll take this year, might not have a detailed itinerary, but that’s okay.

You do have today, and you can do what you can, today.

Twenty-four whole hours. Some of which you might just be able to snatch to work on that book or that yoga routine or that resume or that recipe.

Just a bit of time, today, you might just spend working on that dream.

And yeah, it’s true that snatching ten minutes to write is not exactly the same as sitting down for three un-interrupted hours of literary imaginings, but it’s something.

Taking a half-hour to research the courses offered at your local community college isn’t the same as taking half-a-day to investigate all of the college courses available in your area of interest, but it’s something.

Spending twenty minutes walking on the treadmill or just on the open road isn’t the same as spending a week on retreat with a personal trainer, but it’s something.

You might even get a few things put on that calendar of yours, if you can finagle a few minutes today.

You can always do something.

Maybe one thing. Maybe two. Maybe three, if the stars are all aligned and the weather cooperates.

Might be big things. Or just little steps.

No worries. Really.

And in case no one’s told you lately, you’re doing great. Even if you don’t do it all today.

But, well,  you do have today.

So, what do you want to do today?
