“One day or day one. You decide” (~Paulo Coelho)

I always remember this quote on the first day of a new month, whether it’s January 1st or June 1st or, like today, December 1st.

And no, there is nothing magic about turning the calendar page.

Your day one could be September 17th or March 5th or August 3rd, just as easily as it could be January 1st or any 1st for that matter. It doesn’t really matter when you decide it’s your day one.

It just matters that you decide it is.

It doesn’t matter when you decide that it’s day one, but it does matter that you decide it is.“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” (~ Plato)

It matters that you decide it’s the day you’ll dare to fly, dare to soar, dare to be all that you’re meant to be.

And maybe today? Maybe just today, a random Saturday in December, could be that day.

Today could be the day that you make the call or send the text.

Today could be the day you say “I’m sorry” or “I forgive you” or “It’s been too long, let’s meet for lunch?”

Today could be your day one.

The day you strap on the sneakers and sneak off to the gym. The day you make the time to do that thing you keep telling yourself you’ll do someday, one day.

The day you decide to sign up for the class, pick up the paintbrush or the prayer beads, slip away to sacred space and find peace in a pew or in private prayer.

Today could be your day one.

You just have to decide.
